When is feeding time at Sepilok?
Orangutans are fed at the Sepilok platform at 10am and 3pm. Entry is RM5 for Malaysian adults and RM2 for children, RM30 and RM15 for non-Malaysians. The centre is about 23 km (40 minutes) from Sandakan town. In fruiting season the orangutans may skip the feeding platform.

Opening hours: check the weekend morning
Sabah Tourism lists a morning session of 9am to 12pm on most days, and 9 to 11am on Fridays. The Sabah Wildlife Department's own page gives 9 to 11am for the weekend morning and says the exhibition hall is closed on Fridays. Plan to arrive before the 10am feeding either way.
Tips
- In fruiting season the orangutans find enough food in the forest and may not come to the platform.
- The Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre is next door, open daily 9am–3:30pm including public holidays (Sabah Tourism, reviewed Feb 2025). It charges RM1,000 for camera lenses of 500 mm or longer.
