Terminal Bas Inanam: KK Long-Distance Bus Guide (Fares & Routes)
What goes from Terminal Bas Inanam?
Terminal Bas Inanam (City Bus Terminal North, Mile 6 Jalan Tuaran) is KK's terminal for express buses to the east coast: Sandakan, Lahad Datu, Tawau and Semporna. Buses to Ranau and Kundasang are the Sandakan buses. Buses to Keningau, Tenom, Sipitang, Lawas and Brunei leave from KK Sentral instead, and minibuses to Kudat, Kota Belud, Ranau, Keningau and Tenom leave from Padang Merdeka.
Which terminal for where
KK has three departure points for out-of-town trips (Sabah Tourism, reviewed 7 May 2026, except where noted).

Buses from Inanam: times and fares
"From" prices and journey times are what Easybook listed on 10 October 2026; booking fees come on top, prices change daily, and real journeys run longer in traffic. The maximum fare is the cap set by Sabah's licensing board, LPKP.
| KK to | Journey | Online from | LPKP max fare | Operators |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| SandakanMany departures through the day | about 7½ hrs | RM43 | RM43.60 | Sida Express, TungMa Express |
| Ranau / KundasangYou ride the Sandakan bus and pay the full route fare (LPKP rule) | about 3 hrs 20 min | RM43 | Sandakan fare | Sandakan-bound buses (Sida, TungMa) |
| Lahad Datu | about 8 hrs 40 min | RM52 | RM52.50 | Several, incl. Sairah, Sabariah, Dyana, TungMa |
| TawauArrives at Terminal Bas Sri Indah, Tawau | 11–12 hrs | RM68.50 | RM72.20 | Several, incl. Optis Jaya, Sairah, TransTedar, Sabariah, TungMa |

LPKP charges stops along the way at the bus's full route fare. If you ride the Sandakan bus only as far as Ranau or Kundasang, expect to pay the Sandakan fare. That is why KK–Ranau sells from RM43 online.
How to get to Terminal Inanam
- Pink bus S04 from KK Sentral: get off at the stop the operator lists as "Teminal Bas Bandaraya Utara". S04 is a loop based at Terminal Manggatal: buses leave the hub from 05:40 to 22:32, about every 22 minutes, so times at KK Sentral and Inanam are later than these. The bus is cashless (operator route data, rechecked 7 October 2026). Routes change from time to time, so check the pink bus page before you travel.
- Grab or taxi: about 10 km from the city centre. Jalan Tuaran is slow at peak hour, so leave extra time for an early bus.
Buying tickets
- Online: Easybook and redBus sell the east-coast routes, with a booking fee.
- At the terminal: operator counters sell same-day tickets. Buy early on Fridays, before public holidays and during school holidays, when seats sell out.
What we could not confirm
We list these as unconfirmed rather than guess. We are checking them with the operators and will update this page.
- Exact first and last departures for each operator, and counter prices.
- The terminal's opening hours.
- The KK–Brunei bus (from KK Sentral): sources disagree on whether it runs daily or three days a week, and on the fare.
FAQ
Q Where is Terminal Bas Inanam?
Its official name is City Bus Terminal (North), or Terminal Bas Bandaraya Utara. It is at Mile 6, Jalan Tuaran, Inanam, about 10 km north-east of the city centre. Express buses to the east coast (Sandakan, Lahad Datu, Tawau, Semporna) leave from here.
Q How do I get to Inanam bus terminal from KK city?
Take the pink bus route S04 from KK Sentral. The terminal stop is listed as "Teminal Bas Bandaraya Utara". S04 is a loop: buses leave its Manggatal hub from 05:40 to 22:32, about every 22 minutes, so they pass KK Sentral and Inanam later than those times. Grab also works; allow extra time at peak hour because Jalan Tuaran jams.
Q Bas dari KK ke Kundasang naik di mana?
Buses to Ranau and Kundasang are the Sandakan-bound express buses from Terminal Inanam. Tell the driver your stop. You pay the Sandakan fare, because Sabah's licensing board charges stops along the way at the full route fare. Minibuses to Ranau also leave from Padang Merdeka in the city.
Q Can I buy bus tickets online?
Yes, for the main east-coast routes. Easybook and redBus sell KK–Sandakan, Tawau, Lahad Datu and Semporna tickets with a booking fee on top. You can also buy at the operator counters in the terminal.
