Lahad Datu is the gateway to the Danum Valley and the Tabin Wildlife Reserve. This east coast town has a quieter food scene than KK or Sandakan, but it offers excellent fresh seafood, Malay comfort food, and indigenous Dusun Segama dishes you won't find on the west coast.
